The Krewson for Mayor campaign announced today that St. Louis City Collector of Revenue Gregory F.X. Daly has endorsed Alderwoman Lyda Krewson for Mayor.

“There is way too much work to be done to bring our community together, provide good jobs, ensure safe streets, prioritize quality education, enhance government efficiency and bridge the racial gaps in our city,” said Daly.

“I am thrilled to have Gregg Daly’s endorsement,” said Krewson.  “Gregg is a strong leader, dedicated public servant and has been a tireless advocate for the people of
St. Louis.”

Daly believes that the key to the growth of our region is to create an environment that supports and nurtures small and mid-sized businesses and attracts young professionals to make St. Louis their home. He’s frustrated over efforts to lure big corporations with tax incentives that are used against us.

“Our job as leaders is to create a community that enables all people to thrive. I believe Lyda is well positioned to bring forth innovative ideas, grow the economy, support the people who are trying to invest in our city, engage citizens in their government and give people a more influential voice,” explains Daly.

Daly has spent the last 11 years as Collector of Revenue updating the office’s technology, providing faster and easier ways for citizens to pay their taxes, providing compassionate and efficient customer support by instituting the Taxpayer Pledge, and ensuring that taxes are collected, protected and allocated without disruption or controversy. In fact, many insiders believe Daly has the most efficient, well-run office in city government.
